About The Project

The project aims to address the pressing health and socio-economic challenges faced by the Korku and Gond tribal communities in Harda district, Madhya Pradesh. Focused on maternal and child health, the project seeks to alleviate malnutrition, improve health-seeking behavior, and enhance access to quality healthcare services in this marginalized region.

Objective

With a focused approach on maternal and child health, the project aims to alleviate the widespread issue of malnutrition prevalent among children and women in these communities. By implementing comprehensive interventions, including awareness campaigns and proper nutrition education, the project seeks to enhance the utilization of maternal and child health services, ensuring complete antenatal and postnatal care, and age-appropriate immunizations. Additionally, the project aims to strengthen the local healthcare infrastructure by establishing new health centers and improving existing ones, facilitating timely medical assistance and safe deliveries. Furthermore, the project endeavors to combat the high prevalence of anemia among girls and young women by raising awareness, providing nutritional supplementation, and advocating for improved dietary practices.

  • Identification and tracking of pregnant women, ensuring safe pregnancy and institutional deliveries.
  • Organizing health camps and ensuring Village Health and Nutrition days are activated in the villages.
  • Training of Anganwadi Workers, ASHA and ANM and project staff on breastfeeding practices.
  • Profiling of children in the age group of 0 to 5 years and regular growth monitoring.
  • Formation of adolescent groups in each village.
  • Strengthening children and adolescent collectives through life skill training program.
